STRANGE BUT TRUE:

Here is the FDC of INS VIKRANT, silver jubilee of commissioning, released on 16.2.1986. The cancellation shows the same having been given on board INS VIKRANT. This implies that a post office was located on board. Not the case as only ,a bank, a unique occurence, existed on board INS VIKRANT. Be that as it may, an experimental post office could have been opened to cover this event, which to my knowledge it was not effected. ONLY THE CLOUT OF THE NPS or one of its members must have prevailed for this Postal Department gaffe.
